The first step in starting your career is figuring out what you want to do.

Take a Careers Quiz
If you have no idea what sector or career path to peruse we recommend you first take a careers quiz, there are many available online for example you may want to visit UCAS: www.ucas.com/explore/career-quiz for some ideas.

Set Big Goals
Now you have an idea of the career you want. It’s time to set some goals, large goals should be looked at in a time frame of the next 5-10 years.

Breaking Goals in Smaller Steps
Once you have a few ideas in mind we suggest you use the ‘SMART’ framework to break your overarching goal into smaller steps. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic with Timelines.

Now that you have broken down your goals you can get to achieving them. It’s not a race but the faster you get going the quicker you can achieve.
