Primary and secondary teacher education opportunity for graduates

Graduates currently living in the Borders who would be interested gaining a qualification that would allow them to gain GTCS registration as a primary or secondary teacher.

The opportunity is being provided through a partnership agreement with the University of Highlands and Islands (UHI) who offer a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) primary or secondary programme for graduates with a degree.

Scotland to have its biggest ever rise in medical training places next year

Next year will see the biggest ever rise in medical training places in Scotland, its government has announced, with an extra 152 medical training places for trainee doctors in 2023—surpassing the previous record rise of 139 extra places in 2022.

Trainees share their experience on the RESET Internship Programme
RESET is a paid internship programme delivered by TRC that launched at the beginning of 2022. The scheme was targeted at people aged 25 and over who had been out of work as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic and EU exit or had found themselves in temporary employment that was not making use of their full skillset.
