Cairns carries out all types of building work ranging from complete commercial and domestic refurbishments to new builds and extensions. Their property maintenance services include plastering, interior and exterior decoration, conversions, roofing and facade repairs, plumbing and heating, mechanical and electrical installations, kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping, driveways common areas and everything in between.
Due to an exciting period of growth, Cairn Building Solutions are looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join their busy team in Rutherglen. Your role will involve working alongside the office manager assisting with all administration tasks as well as liaising daily with tradesmen, customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

Vacancy Description:
- First point of contact for customers, suppliers, subcontractors and tradesmen
- Create records for new enquiries recorded on excel spreadsheet.
- Upload works order from customer and our quotation onto Sharepoint
- Create Active Job file once jobs/tenders have been awarded.
- Provide tradesmen and subcontractors with purchase order numbers or order in materials as requested
- Allocate purchase orders onto cost sheet for all active works
- Collate all timesheets and allocate hours onto each job as advised
- Ensure delivery / collection notes reflect information recorded on purchase orders. Ensure prices and quantities match and all information is recorded on active cost sheet.
- Batch all approved purchase invoices and send to accountant to pay
- Scanning hard copies of paperwork received
- Deal with suppliers for hiring portaloo’s / welfare units / vans
- Utilising Microsoft packages daily (word, excel, powerpoint)
- All other administration duties as required to enable the smooth running of the office.
Personal Qualities:
- High Level of organisation and the ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills to handle email and telephone enquiries.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Great attitude and work ethic
- Basic understand of Microsoft Packages
Additional Information:
- Early finish on a Friday, Monday – Thursday 8AM – 4PM , Friday 8AM-3PM
- Salary – £14,000
- Must reside in South Lanarkshire
